Simon Darlow's music career spans nearly four decades. From his childhood classical training to his early forays as a member of The Buggles, through penning international pop hits in the '80s (including the million-selling "Slave to the Rhythm" for Grace Jones) to his later work as a composer for film and television, he has remained an active and energetic presence in the music industry. Since the turn of the millennium he has embarked on additional ventures as a passionate advocate for the rights of songwriters through his extensive work on industry boards and lobby groups, holding the position of Deputy Chairman of the PRS from 2011 to 2021 and Chairman of BASCA (Ivors Academy) from 2013 to 2015, amongst others.
Simon lives and works in London and rural Oxfordshire, UK, where he can currently be found in his converted-barnyard studio working on new musical projects with the likes of Toyah, Robert Fripp, and Bendik Hofseth, as well as his freelance work for TV. He has one cat, one wife, three sheep, and three sons.
